RESEARCH INTEREST: My
research focuses on the populational divergence in butterflies in the genus Heliconius and their geographical races, using
these as a model to understand evolution of the animal genitalia. At the moment work in aspects like the rapid morphological
diversification of the male genitalia of these butterflies with the purpose of find evidences that support the evolution
hypothesis for sexual selection and criptic preference of the female. Other topics of interest are: preferences
of mating in insects, sexual selection, speciation, applications of geometric morphometrics and multivariate morphometrics
in evolutionary biology. Others: Onychophora for Colombia.
